An anonymous donor has put up a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the abuse of Mystery the dog, which was tossed out of a moving car in Ute Pass.

Mystery, as the dog has been named, is recovering from a broken pelvis and eventually will be put up for adoption by the Teller County Regional Animal Shelter.

The dog was rescued by a young couple, two University of Colorado-Colorado Springs students, who were driving behind the car when Mystery was tossed from it.

The reward is being administered by the Wheat Ridge law firm of Marra & Leavitt.
