The campus newspaper at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs will  continue to be published in a paper format, a majority of the student body  decided.

In a campus-wide election that ended March 14, more than half of the record  turnout of student voters said they want to keep The Scribe.

A question on the ballot asked students whether they wanted to overturn a  2010 student body vote to have the weekly, student-run publication go paperless  in August 2015 and only be available online.

Of the 1,457 students who voted, 886 said yes, 432 said no and 139  abstained.

“It’s really important there’s an outlet for students to have a voice on  campus, that there’s someone advocating for students about fees, university  policies and holding those in power accountable,” said Jesse Byrnes,  editor-in-chief.

Published regularly since 1966, The Scribe includes news, events, sports and  human interest articles about campus life and issues.
