Stephanie Copeland, executive director of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade, is the featured speaker at the State of Small Business event scheduled from 8-10:30 a.m. June 5 at the Pinery at the Hill, 775 W. Bijou St.
The event, in its fourth year, also will include a midyear economic report from Tatiana Bailey, director of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Economic Forum; a report on the activities of the Pikes Peak Small Business Development Center by Akita Marcoulier, the center’s director, and a roundtable discussion among small-business owners with networking opportunities.
The center and forum are hosting the event, which is sponsored by Wells Fargo.
Copeland has headed the office, which is the state’s primary economic development agency, for 1½ years and previously spent 3½ years as president and senior vice president of Boulder telecommunications provider Zayo Group, a year as chief operating officer of satellite internet provider WildBlue and 13 years as an executive with telecommunications giant Qwest Communications.
