What does it take to be a top college athlete? Many Delta High School faculty members and family and friends, in Delta know the answer to that question.

Former Delta High School scholar, and athlete, Skylyn Webb is the epitome of a work ethic which produces superior results. Webb recently competed in an indoor track meet at Western State College University where she excelled in several events and was instrumental in helping her University of Colorado at Colorado Springs teammates win a team title.

This past week Webb not only competed in an event she had not run in college, she won the event in a record time and is now the Division II top female runner in the 800m run. Her 2:08.91 placed her on top of all DII females in the event.

Webb has also competed in the 400m dash with the results lifting her to fourth place among all DII female athletes for that event. Her 55.61 is just under San Francisco State’s Timarya Baynard’s 54.66 who is the number one 400m runner in DII rankings.

Her latest accomplishment came in a track meet held on the campus of Colorado Mines this past weekend.
